Grandma Terri

This is Makaela and Grandma Terri:

Grandma Terri is a dear family friend!  Loved by me, my husband, my mother, and loved and named "Grandma Terri" one day while Visiting Teaching by my daughter.  EVERYONE loves Grandma Terri.  She is one of a kind!

Makaela and I surprised her a couple of years ago by taking her to a surprise birthday party at Olive Garden when she turned 75.

Grandma Terri recently had another birthday, and Makaela asked how old she was.  When I told her that Grandma Terri was 77, she said, "We are the same!  I'm 7 and Grandma Terri is 77!"

Romeo's Tune

Luke and Cooper.  Cooper and Luke.  Both of these little brats Romeos are "in love" with Makaela!  Since when did True Love start in First Grade?!
Makaela told me that Cooper was in love with her (again... still...whatever!).  We have given her many helpful suggestions, such as, "You can't date until you're 35".  And, "If a boy is in love with you, he needs to have an interview with Daddy".  This time I came up with the best line yet:  "You should toot in front of Cooper and if he's still in love with you, then you will know for sure that it's true love."  Makaela promptly replied, "Is that how you got Dad?"

100 Days of First Grade

Makaela celebrated 100 days of school today!  They had many special activities planned, including the following questionaire: 

My favorite thing to do now is:  going to 1 grade

In 100 years, my favorite thing to do will be:   reading a lot

My favorite food now is:  choclet kace (chocolate cake)

In 100 years, my favorite food will be:  ches  (cheese)

My favorite TV show is:  spunsh bod  (Sponge Bob)

In 100 years, my favorite TV show will be:  the news

In 100 years, I think my job will be:  a ples girl  (a police girl)

In 100 years, I will have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.

In 100 years, I will be living in:  heven  (heaven)

In 100 years, I would tell young people:  you are nice to me

I guess I know what she thinks of her parents since I spent all last weekend reading and love cheese;  and Studbucket always has the news on!

A Love Story

Makaela just celebrated her 7th birthday!  As we were getting things ready for the celebration, she tells Bad Grandma that Luke (a boy from her 1st grade class) has a crush on her!  Acting naive, Bad Grandma asks, "What's a crush?"  Makaela responds, "It means he's in love with me.  He looked into my eyes and I looked into his."  OHMYHECK!  Yep, she knows what a crush is.  Move over Justin Beaver, here comes Luke!
